Join us for an evening with thought-leaders at the forefront of science, mathematics, health and education.

Penrith Talks Innovation is a series of four talks in 2017 hosted by Penrith City Council. They are an initiative of the Mayor of Penrith, Councillor John Thain.

Keynote Speaker: David Burns, Director of STEM Innovation Networks at Battelle Education (Columbus Ohio)*.

David L. Burns as Director of STEM Innovation Networks at Battelle provides international leadership for issues regarding STEM education.

Since joining Battelle in 2008 David has focused on the start-up and implementation of ten state-wide STEM platform schools ensuring creativity and innovation in school design, and connecting those schools through a network. This model has been recognised as a blue print for implementing STEM education and is currently in the start-up phase in the states of Tennessee and North Carolina, U.S.A.

Marita Cheng: 2012 Young Australian of the Year, technology entrepreneur and women in technology advocate. Founder and CEO of aubot.

Professor Jamie Vandenberg: Deputy Director, Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute, Head of Cardiac Electrophysiology Laboratory.
