Penrith Locals Featured in the Latest Edition of Seniors’ Stories
Stuart Ayres is encouraging all Penrith residents to get a copy of Seniors’ Stories Volume 4, which includes over 100 inspiring short stories written by seniors including Ilona and Wendy.
Ilona has written about a 70th birthday and the precious gift of time while Wendy has written a heartfelt story about fostering a disabled boy.
“Older people have so much to offer and I think it is wonderful 100 seniors have been given the chance to share their stories with others,” Stuart Ayres said.
“I would urge everyone to download a copy of the book or head to the library to read a copy which is set to make you laugh, cry and be inspired.”
Minister for Ageing Tanya Davies recently launched the fourth instalment of the much-loved publication while celebrating with its authors at an event at NSW Parliament.
“This book not only gives seniors the chance to bring their precious stories to life, but it allows them to show off their writing skills and connect with others,” Mrs Davies said.
“Society can benefit from the wisdom and knowledge of our seniors and this book allows older people to pass on their stories to younger generations to enjoy as well.”
The cover of Seniors’ Stories Volume 4 features this year’s winner of the NSW Grandparents Day Photography Competition. A copy can be found at all local libraries across NSW from December or downloaded from the Seniors Card website.
